The new Arteon is making its local debut at the Volkswagen stand during the Singapore Motorshow 2018.

The Arteon is an all-new gran turismo from Volkswagen. It is efficient and powerful with a distinct performance character, yet it is also comfortable like a luxury sedan, making it perfectly suited for everyday use. The Arteon is designed on the Volkswagen modular transverse matrix (MQB) vehicle platform - this matrix is used for a wide range of vehicle classes, and features a transversely-mounted front engine.

Thanks to the MQB, the Arteon has dynamic proportions. Standout features of the Arteon include a bonnet with a clamshell design that extends a long way forward and partially over both wings. A long wheelbase of 2,841 mm spans the axles of the car - this allows for plentiful legroom in the Arteon (overall length: 4,862 mm) as well as the largest boot capacity in its class (563 litres). The Arteon also impresses with advanced features such as the fully digital and configurable Active Info Display instrument cluster, as well as the Area View system for a 360-degree view around the car.

The refreshed Beetle Cabriolet is also on display at the Singapore Motorshow. The convertible version of the Beetle is back with redesigned front and rear bumpers, giving the car an even sportier look with a broader appearance. The "Fender Sound" audio system package is also exclusively available on the Beetle Cabriolet, and customers can enjoy exceptional sound quality via a nine-speaker, 400-watt setup that is completed with a subwoofer in the boot.

"The Arteon and Beetle Cabriolet are just the first offerings in our product offensive this year," said Ricky Tay, the Managing Director of Volkswagen Group Singapore. "Buyers have extremely precise requirements - the cars must drive well, be 'smart', and look good. We are confident that customers in Singapore will find the new Arteon and Beetle Cabriolet to surpass these criteria with their innovation and design.

The full line-up of Volkswagen models is on display, with a wide range of body styles available. This includes the complete range of commercial vehicles.

Speaking about the brand's commitment to Singapore, Mr Tay said, "2017 has been a good year for Volkswagen, and I am looking forward to furthering the success story in 2018. We are grateful to our customers for their constant support, and we will continue our efforts to build a brand they are proud of.

"We are also continually working to ensure the best possible aftersales service for each and every Volkswagen owner for their absolute peace of mind; together with our regular themed events, Volkswagen Singapore strives to bring delight at every touchpoint of the customer's ownership journey."

Volkswagen is at stand #129 at the Singapore Motorshow 2018, which runs from today until 14 January 2018.
