Volkswagen Singapore is opening the next chapter of a success story that began over 50 years ago, introducing the new Golf. The popular hatchback features a range of upgrades, while upholding its signature design elements and character.

The Golf boasts its own place in automotive history, with a silhouette and driving dynamics that are loved across generations. Volkswagen Singapore is now proud to offer the facelifted Golf in the Life Plus and R-Line variants, with the latter on display at the brand’s Waterway Point and Marina Square roadshows.

The new Golf Life Plus - an icon refreshed

The new Golf Life Plus represents an evolution, rather than a revolution, from its predecessor. On the exterior, it makes its presence known with the signature illuminated Volkswagen logo, IQ. Light HD LED Matrix headlights, as well LED rear combination lamps. These help to ensure that there is no mistaking the new Golf on the road, together with other external features like the 18-inch Catania alloy wheels.

Under the hood, the Golf Life Plus offers smart performance you can count on. The 1.5l eTSI 4-cylinder engine combines turbocharging with a mild hybrid system for dynamic performance and remarkable fuel efficiency, consuming just 6.3 liters per 100 km. With 116 PS, 220 Nm of torque and a 7-speed DSG transmission delivering smooth and responsive shifts, the new Golf accelerates to 100 km/h in 9.9 seconds on the way to a top speed of 203 km/h.

On the inside, the new Golf Life Plus allows you to take to the road with only the best—a leather-wrapped, multi-function steering wheel with paddle shifters for a premium drive. Space and convenience is maximised for passengers too with the versatile 60:40 split-folding backrest, complete with a centre armrest for added comfort. 30-colour ambient lighting allows both driver and passengers to enjoy the perfect atmosphere for the mood, ranging from soothing glows to vibrant hues.

The 3-zone Air Care Climatronic keeps the cabin fresh with enhanced air and allergen filters, automatic climate control, and rear passenger controls. The new Golf also offers intelligent safety measures and driver assists, including the Proactive Passenger Protection System to actively analyse the situation ahead, allowing early precautions such as tightening the seatbelts and triggering the hazard lights.

Comprehensive hardware and software upgrades are also integrated into the new Golf, including a next-generation infotainment system that has been newly developed from the ground up. The customisable 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro also allows the display to be tailored to show speed and mileage, navigation, or even favourite tracks effortlessly. Connectivity on the go is assured with the wireless charging pad, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The new Golf R-Line: Adding thrills to the everyday drive

While the Golf R-Line features the same powertrain and performance figures as the Golf Life Plus, it boasts features that clearly mark it as the sporty choice. This ranges from the 18-inch Leeds alloy wheels and R-Line body-coloured bumpers on the outside, to sports seats with integrated head restraints and lumbar support, R-Line fabric and ArtVelours microfleece upholstery inside.

Further differentiating factors for the Golf R-Line include driver assists such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Park Assist Plus with Park Distance Control and Lane Assist. Owners can also look forward to the R-Line exclusive Lapiz Blue exterior colour and sports suspension with progressive steering, offering sharp and precise handling for a more engaging drive.
